What We Offer

Yadkin Path Montessori is for boys and girls 6 weeks to 13 years old. We are the only Montessori program in Rowan County. We specialize in small groups with individualized curriculum. Our classrooms are prepared and living environments, soothing and engaging. Children have the freedom to choose activities according to personal interest and skills. We maintain the three-hour Montessori work period. We are non-religious, multicultural, and multi-age.

Our students learn through hands-on experiences, giving them new motor, social, cognitive, and language skills as well as growing and expanding in math, reading, writing, critical thinking and problem-solving, and practical life skills. Our curriculum focuses on developing and refining the social graces that children will use throughout their lives, and on our community's history, environment, geography, systems, issues, and diverse cultures.

Enrollment

Yadkin Path Montessori welcomes children of all races, religions, and ethnicities. Yadkin Path makes every effort to admit each child on the waiting list into a classroom. However, the school cannot guarantee that a position will become available.

In our efforts to provide a premier educational model in Montessori methodology it is important that parents understand the commitment required. Age, developmental readiness, space availability, and classroom dynamics are all factors for admission to each program level. Our priority is to enroll children whose families understand and are committed to our values and philosophy.

Admission into the Children's House and Elementary programs also requires a classroom visit by the prospective student to assess each individual's unique strengths and challenges, and determine how we may best suit his or her needs.

Admissions Process

  1. Contact us at yadkinpath@gmail.com to let us know you are interested in attending a parent-only tour. At the conclusion of the tour, you may complete a Request for Admissions Packet to be considered for enrollment.

  2. Upon submission of the Request for Admissions Packet and required $75 processing fee, the family will be given the opportunity to fill out and submit a Wait List Application, if necessary. There is a non-refundable $25 fee to hold a child’s spot on our waiting list.

  3. During the registration and enrollment period, the child may come to the classroom for a three hour visit to evaluate our ability to meet your child’s individual needs. We try to enroll people who have a philosophical view about education, parenting, and children that is compatible with our view. The Family Handbook will be issued after scheduling this visit.

  4. Upon acceptance into the program, parents/guardians will be given a legally binding Enrollment Contract to sign and submit, accompanied by their Enrollment Deposit and Tuition Insurance Deposit (if applicable). Then the Required Forms to sign will be issued and due back prior to the child’s first day of attendance.

Testimonials

"Our son has been enrolled in the preschool room at Yadkin Path for the last 8 months. He has really thrived in every way and loves his teacher and going to school. His vocabulary and overall patience have both flourished. We also love the atmosphere and that he spends a lot of time outdoors. It is such a beautiful facility built with care and love. We feel so lucky to have our child be able to have this opportunity." -Nicole P.

"YPM was a breath of fresh air for our family when we needed to find alternative care for our child and at the same time prepare for another child to be born. Both are thriving in their development because of the YPM team and the focus on practical materials and life skills." -Peter F.
